Serve External Interests

Using a crest to serve external interests means redirecting inherited authority away from the House, clan, or Nation in order to benefit outside governments, corporations, institutions, or individuals.

Under Ayaawx, crests bind authority inward — to the people, the land, and future generations. They are not instruments for external agendas.

A violation occurs when a crest is used to:

  • Advance the goals of outside governments, companies, or organizations over the interests of the House or Nation.
  • Legitimize decisions that primarily benefit non-members.
  • Trade authority for approval, funding, employment, or political favor.
  • Suppress internal concerns in order to maintain external relationships.
  • Act as an intermediary for external power rather than a guardian of internal law.

Crest authority is not delegated outward. It cannot be repurposed to serve those without responsibility to the land or people.

Lawful authority requires:

  • Primary loyalty to the House, clan, and Nation.
  • Defense of land, waters, and collective rights.
  • Independence from coercion or inducement.
  • Accountability to witnesses, not sponsors.

When external interests are served through a crest:

  • Trust within the community is broken.
  • Decisions lose legitimacy.
  • Ayaawx is displaced by outside priorities.
  • Authority becomes an extension of foreign power.

Ayaawx principle: Authority carried for others is no longer authority of the House.

Such misuse erodes legitimacy and invites correction through law, including public review, withdrawal of representation, and restoration of proper allegiance.
