Limits on Alienation of Laxyuup

Laxyuup is not subject to unilateral alienation.

Laxyuup cannot be transferred, surrendered, or permanently alienated by a single person, house, or authority acting alone. Any act affecting laxyuup must conform to Tsm’syen law and ayaawx.

Alienation without lawful process includes:

  • transfer without collective recognition,
  • surrender of land contrary to ayaawx,
  • agreements made without proper authority or witnessing,
  • actions that permanently remove land from lawful relationship.

Laxyuup is held through responsibility and relationship, not ownership. Decisions affecting its status require lawful recognition and adherence to ayaawx at the appropriate level of authority.

Unilateral alienation undermines law and continuity. Such acts lack legitimacy and require response to restore balance.
