Harm to Laxyuup
Harm to land creates imbalance requiring restoration.
Harm to laxyuup is not limited to physical damage. It includes disruption of relationships, loss of use, contamination, and degradation of responsibilities owed to the land and to others.
Such harm creates imbalance within:
- the affected house or houses,
- relationships between houses and clans,
- the wider Nation,
- and the land itself.
Restoration is required to address imbalance. Restoration may include:
- acknowledgment of harm,
- repair or remediation,
- compensation or service,
- changes in conduct to prevent recurrence,
- and witnessed processes guided by ayaawx.
Punishment alone does not restore balance. Restoration seeks to repair what has been damaged and re-establish lawful relationships.
Failure to address harm prolongs imbalance and weakens lawful standing.
