It Is Maintained as a Living Document Category: Tsm’syen Law Page status: Working

Purpose

This principle explains how the National Ayaawk Codex continues to remain relevant across generations.

General Principle

It is maintained as a living document.

Meaning

Because ayaawk lives in practice and relationship, any record of it must remain open to clarification, improvement, and renewed understanding.

A living document grows in accuracy as knowledge deepens. It adapts in expression while remaining faithful to its sources.

Function

Maintaining the Codex as living allows it to:

  • incorporate better understanding
  • correct error
  • reflect new situations through established principles
  • remain useful for teaching and coordination

Relationship to Time

Past knowledge guides the present. Present understanding prepares the future.

The Codex therefore operates across generations rather than serving a single moment.

Limits

Living does not mean unstable. Changes must remain connected to ayaawk, recognized authority, and proper process.

Revision cannot be used to invent power or detach the record from its foundations.

Continuity

A living document ensures that law remains recognizable to those who inherit responsibility, while still allowing them to see their place within it.
