Assembly Participation Does Not Dissolve House Accountability

Category: Tsm’syen Law Page status: Working

Purpose

To clarify that participation in a national or collective forum does not transfer or erase the responsibilities held by houses.

General Principle

Assembly participation does not dissolve house accountability.

Meaning

Representation at the Assembly occurs through houses and recognized roles. Attendance or collective discussion does not remove internal obligations.

Function

This principle preserves the integrity of the house system while allowing coordination at a broader level. It prevents responsibility from being displaced onto the Assembly.

Scope

Houses remain responsible for:

  • the conduct of their members,
  • positions carried into the Assembly,
  • and responses required under ayaawx.

Limits

The Assembly may coordinate response to shared matters. It does not absorb or replace house authority.

Consequence

If a house fails to act, standing may be affected. Proper response maintains trust, recognition, and continuity.
