Unlawful Use and Standing

Unlawful use affects standing and trust.

Use of laxyuup that violates ayaawx undermines lawful standing. Authority, recognition, and trust are affected by conduct, not assertion.

Unlawful use may include:

  • use without responsibility or recognition,
  • disregard for limits set by ayaawx,
  • harm to land, waters, or relationships,
  • refusal to acknowledge or repair harm.

Consequences of unlawful use include:

  • loss of trust by houses or the Nation,
  • weakening or withdrawal of authority,
  • restriction of access or participation,
  • requirement to engage in restoration.

Standing is relational and conditional. It is maintained through lawful conduct, accountability, and respect for ayaawx.

Failure to restore balance limits future recognition and participation in lawful decision-making.
