Extraction and Alteration of Laxyuup

Extraction or alteration requires lawful recognition.

Any extraction, removal, or alteration of laxyuup must be lawfully recognized under ayaawx. No person, house, or external body may extract or alter land, waters, or resources without proper authority and recognition.

Lawful recognition includes:

  • acknowledgment by the responsible house or houses,
  • alignment with clan or Nation law where applicable,
  • adherence to ayaawx and adaawx,
  • and witnessed consent where required.

Extraction and alteration carry heightened responsibility. Such actions must:

  • be justified by lawful purpose,
  • avoid irreversible harm,
  • respect existing relationships and obligations,
  • and include repair or restoration where impacts occur.

Unrecognized extraction or alteration is a violation of law. Such conduct undermines authority and requires response to restore balance.

Lawful recognition precedes action. Without it, extraction and alteration have no legitimacy.
