Using a crest to serve external interests means redirecting inherited authority away from the House, clan, or Nation in order to benefit outside governments, corporations, institutions, or individuals.<br />
<br />
Under Ayaawx, crests bind authority inward — to the people, the land, and future generations.<br />
They are not instruments for external agendas.<br />
<br />
A violation occurs when a crest is used to:<br />
<br />
* Advance the goals of outside governments, companies, or organizations over the interests of the House or Nation.<br />
* Legitimize decisions that primarily benefit non-members.<br />
* Trade authority for approval, funding, employment, or political favor.<br />
* Suppress internal concerns in order to maintain external relationships.<br />
* Act as an intermediary for external power rather than a guardian of internal law.<br />
<br />
Crest authority is not delegated outward.<br />
It cannot be repurposed to serve those without responsibility to the land or people.<br />
